The Kurdistan Human Rights Network has been informed that yesterday, June 18th, four members of the Kurdistan-Marivan Teachers’ Union, Aram Mohammadi, Aram Ghaderi, Tahsin Mostafa and Sivan Soleimani, were released from Marivan Prison after two days in detention.

These teachers were arrested by security forces in the city of Marivan on Wednesday, June 16, during a wave of widespread arrests of teachers.

Also today, Saturday, June 18, 10 teachers were arrested and members of the Kurdistan-Saqez / Zivieh Teachers’ Union, namely Taher Qaderzadeh, Anwar Farjouzadeh, Salah Hosseini, Hossein Mohammadi, Keyvan Mohammadi, Khaled Sheikhi, Loghman Al-Humradi, Aziz Marzi, Mohammad Fattahi and Qader Yathrabi was temporarily released from Saqez prison on bail. Earlier, on Thursday, June 16, Awat Razavi was released on bail.

Considering the release of these 15 Kurdish teachers, 22 other members of the Kurdistan Teachers’ Union are currently in detention in the cities of Sanandaj, Saqez, Divandere and Tehran.

Sanandaj: Salah Hajimirzaei, Ghias Nemati, Mohammad Reza Moradi and Behzad Ghavami

Marivan: Shaban Mohammadi, لطAskandar Lotfi and Massoud Nikkhah
