In the city of Soran in Erbil province, a man shot and killed his 15-year-old daughter.
Shirvan Khalid, a spokesman for the Soran Domestic Violence Police, said the body of a girl born in 2007 was taken to a city hospital early Friday morning with six bullets in her body.
He also said that the father was the main defendant and that the reason for the murder was that he had killed his daughter because he had gone out with two other people.
Shirvan Khalid also indicated that two other people with whom the victim had gone out had been arrested.
Honor killings are on the rise in Iraqi Kurdistan.
Since the beginning of this year, more than 10 women have been killed in the Kurdistan region.
In the last 10 years, nearly 500 women have been killed in the Kurdistan region.
