A young woman from a village near Sanandaj was killed by her brothers.
On Friday evening (December 3, 2021), a young woman identified as Sahar Moradi, 33, was killed by her brothers, Hamid and Omid Moradi, in the village of Bavoriz in the Sanandaj province.
According to an informed source, Sahar Moradi, a mother of two who lost her husband (Haidar Rezaei) two years ago, was stabbed to death by her brothers for having an affair with another person. It is worth mentioning that Sahar has taken care of her children.
According to this source, on the first Wednesday of December, Hamid and Omid Sahar were severely beaten for having a relationship with another person and were transferred to Kowsar Hospital in Sanandaj due to the severity of their injuries. Sahar Moradi was released from the hospital on Friday and returned to his mother Shabbo Rezaei’s house, where he was stabbed to death by his brothers.
Sahar Moradi’s body was buried in his native village on Saturday, December 4, without any ceremony.
None of the killers have been arrested by police as of this writing.
According to a report published by Hengaw website last week, from November 25, 2020 to November 25, 2021, at least 44 women were killed in different cities of Kurdistan, 11 of which (25%) were honor killings.
