
In the past two days, Iranian security forces have arrested at least 14 student activists in Kurdish areas.
According to human rights activists in Iranian Kurdistan, Sahib Badrouj and Farzad Samani, student activists, were arrested on Saturday in the dormitory of Kharazmi University in Karaj. On the same day, Farhad Musaipour and Bahman Yousefzadeh, two other students at Payame Noor University in Mahabad, were arrested in Sardasht. Fereydoun Musapour, Farhad Musapour’s brother, has also been arrested in Sardasht. They were detained at the Rizman English Language Institute.
In another raid on Saturday, security forces arrested six people in Mahabad, including Darya Talabani, Shapur Khezri, Salar Rahavi, Iman Abdi, Sirvan Nouri and Afshin Mam Ahmadi.
On Saturday, Dana Samadi and the Minoan caravan were arrested in Marivan and Azimeh Naseri in Buchan.
Security forces have not commented on why the student activists were arrested or where they were detained.
According to the Kurdistan Human Rights Association, at least 258 Kurdish political and civil activists were detained by Iranian security forces last year.
