Morteza Hagh Bayan, a journalist living in Sanandaj, was sentenced to three years suspended imprisonment by the Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj. He was also tried in Branch 104 of the city’s criminal court on charges of disclosing government documents, slandering and spreading lies.
“Morteza Hagh Bayan”, a journalist living in Sanandaj and the operator of the Telegram channel Amak (exposing the actions of Kurdistan’s managers) was sentenced by the Revolutionary Court of this city to 3 years suspended imprisonment.
The charges against the journalist were “disclosure of government documents”, “slander and defamation” and “spreading lies through the publication of material on the Telegram channel of Amak”.
At the same time, he was tried on Monday, November 16, 2020, on similar charges in Branch 104 of the city’s criminal court, but no verdict has yet been issued by the criminal court.
Mr. Hagh Bayan was arrested in connection with this case on August 25, 2019.
Finally, on September 23, 2019, after the end of the interrogations, he was temporarily released on 200 million Tomans bail until the end of the trial.
